Northwest™ is a monthly newsmagazine designed to celebrate the
diversity of our community in the form of articles, columns,
features, profiles, and photos.
Q View
Media, LLC publishes Q View Northwest™ and solicits articles
from freelance writers. Decisions regarding publication are made
by the editorial staff.
At its sole
discretion, Q View Media, LLC reserves the right to reject
material, whether solicited or otherwise.

Opinion & humor pieces that interweave experiences, ideas, and
reasoned debate on controversial subjects.

amazing services, or products that serve to empower, educate,
and inspire the GLBTQA community.
•
Tips on becoming business savvy and financially wise from a gay
or lesbian perspective.
•
Health in the form of physical, emotional, and spiritual
well-being presented in a manner that connects with our
readership.
•
GLBTQA authors, books, musicians, artists, and music for review.
Submission Guidelines
We prefer to
read a manuscript, not a draft. While your article is under
review, we ask that you not submit it to another publication or
post it on a website, even your own, until the review process is
completed. Articles submitted should not be previously
published, either in print or electronic form.
Articles
Articles
should exhibit a passion for sharing information in an
uplifting, positive, and practical manner. Authors bear full
responsibility for the accuracy of citations, quotations,
figures, and facts. Articles are accepted via mail, but
preferably via e-mail. Article text should be in digital format
(Microsoft Word). Byline given must be included in your
manuscript. In order to receive a copy of the issue containing
your article, please include your mailing address.
When we
review manuscripts in compiling an issue, we consider many
factors, such as the balance of perspectives, locations, and
topics. You will be notified if your manuscript is selected for
publication. Please submit articles to:

Writer’s Fees
Feature
articles are an average of 1,400 – 1,600 words and we offer
$0.05 a word. Other articles are an average of 500 – 1,000 words
and we offer $0.05 a word. Payment is given immediately after
the issue has been released. A copy of the news magazine and the
writer’s fee will be mailed to the author.
We do not
reimburse articles prepared and submitted by an author that
serves to benefit, enhance, and encourage our readers to support
their company and/or services. The same applies for individuals
who represent that company. We do not make any payments for
press release articles or advertorials.
Photos With Your Article
Photos are
highly encouraged. Please state availability of photos with your
article submissions. Identification of photo subjects is
required. Include a text file when submitting photos with the
filename and description of the photo. High resolution jpeg or
tiff files only. A minimum of 300 DPI image is needed for
quality print. Digital submission is preferred via e-mail,
CD-ROM, or FTP transfer. If no digital copy of a picture is
available, please send an actual photograph for us to scan.
Please include a SASE for us to return the photograph.
